Overview

Our company was commissioned to design and develop a real-time, photorealistic garden environment for use on Frames Studio's LED wall, supporting the shoot of three advertising videos for the brand Juwel. The goal was to create a dynamic and immersive natural setting that could be controlled and adjusted live on set, ensuring seamless integration with the physical elements and talent. By leveraging real-time rendering technology, we enabled the creative team to explore various lighting scenarios and camera angles in a controlled virtual space, enhancing both efficiency and visual impact throughout the production process.

Challenges & Approach

One of the main challenges of this project was achieving a truly photorealistic garden environment that precisely replicated the reference photo of a real garden provided by the client. Every detail—from the texture and color of the foliage to the lighting, depth, and spatial arrangement of plants—had to be meticulously matched to ensure authenticity. Working in a real-time engine added another layer of complexity, as we needed to balance visual fidelity with performance to maintain seamless playback on the LED wall. Achieving this level of realism required close collaboration between our 3D artists, environment designers, and technical team, along with extensive optimization and fine-tuning to meet both aesthetic and technical demands.

The result

The production was a great success, with the virtual garden environment seamlessly blending into the physical set, creating a cohesive and immersive backdrop for the three advertising videos. One of the key achievements was the flexibility the real-time setup offered the client, allowing them to explore and select different viewing angles and positions within the garden for each video, all while maintaining visual continuity and realism. The client was highly satisfied with the result, particularly impressed by the natural integration of the virtual environment and the creative freedom it provided on set.
